masterjakestudios It’s a neat balance between the peaceful and the playful, and to be honest, there’s no greater sense of humour than to drop 52 seconds of absolute dynamite and merely call it the second “Intermission”. Favorite track: GRACEFUL CHARITY.

about

'ORIGAMI'

This album is about the sensation of being thrusted into a something completely alien and new to you.

I aimed to make this one fast paced, blistering and agitated, jarring & distressed but invigorating at the same time.

This album has an altogether separate personality from my previous output I think, the main intent behind the release of both this record and the EP I released in February were to see where my strengths lie, as both were approached creatively in very different ways.

My process behind making the songs on ORIGAMI was extremely sporadic, I started making it the day before I had announced it during my 2018 Pre-Show video and I worked against the clock.

Putting a time restraint on my work like that forced to me think outside the box and attempt new ways to make music, and I think this made sense to do as it fit the idea I had for the album to feel like a hectic adrenaline rush.

It constantly shifts and harshly evolves into new ideas in the same way your mind rushes when you're forced to adapt to something entirely new, like learning to swim for example.

Making this has taught me a lot, many songs have been scrapped, many hours have been lost to sample searching, one tracklist change after another. Ultimately I learned something valuable every time I made a song for this record and I feel like it's current form is what it was always meant to be.

I hope you find enjoyment hearing this wild experiment, it's been a blast.

Thanks for listening.
